the best stuff is free stuff

Today during my lunch break I went into the mall looking to go into 4 specific stores: H&M, Sephora, Victoria's Secret, and Trade Secret. Both H&M and Trade Secret were fails. H&M hardly ever has things in size 2 and Trade Secret didn't have the nail polish I wanted. I went to Victoria's Secret and got free underwear; my mom got a coupon in the mail for a free one so I used it. Then I went to Sephora to redeem my free full sized perfume thanks to my biffles Christmas gift. I ended up getting Marc Jacobs Daisy, no surprise there. Then when I was at the register I saw a cute little Hello Kitty mini perfume so I used 100 of my Sephora beauty insider points to get it. I must say i'm not too fond of the scent, but it was too cute to pass up.

need naked ?

When I first got the palette in August I was obsessed with it. I'm a big neutral eye shadow lover so this was perfect for me, it was actually the only eye shadow I brought with me on vaca. Then for my birthday my biffle gave me my first Inglot palette and I was hooked. I stopped using the naked palette and was only wearing the Inglot shadows. Now I'm back on the naked palette. I'll probably get tired of using it again, but I must say that it's a good palette. There is a good range of colors both shimmery and matte so you can do night looks and day looks. I sort of wish mine came with a brush since I've never used the eyeliner or the primer potion. If you already have a lot of neutrals it's not a must have, but it's a nice to have product. You really get the bang for your buck.

muji case

Ever since I saw the Kardashian sisters' acrylic makeup organizers I've wanted one. I googled them and they are expensive! Ebay and Amazon are both expensive and I came across another site where theirs were $300+. I always thought they were nice too look at, but I wouldn't spend that much money on something that is just going to hold my makeup. One day I was on twitter and someone tweeted about this company called Muji which had acrylic cases for a very reasonable price. The only thing that was bad about the site was that everything was sold out. However it did say to expect stock in January so every day I checked the site and last Wednesday or Thursday it came into stock. I bought two to stack on top of each other.

I got them today, the shipping was super fast and they were packaged very well. Tons of bubble wrap and fragile stickers on the box. I thought that for the price they wouldn't be that great quality($21.25 for the one w/just sliding drawers & $22.75 for the one with the lid), but I was wrong they're great ! I love them and would purchase more !

celebrity look of the day

Camilla Belle in Jason Wu Spring 2011 at the premiere of her new movie From Prada to Nada. I am in love with this look; this is the definition of mens wear done right.

current dessert obsession

Triple chocolate drumsticks ! I hate the regular drumsticks because the whole top part is covered in nuts yuck. On the other hand I love chocolate so these are perfect. I just wish there were more in a box because 4 is definitely not enough!

my everyday brushes

everyday brushes

1) MAC 217 for blending eyeshadow
2) bare minerals eyeshadow brush
3) target angled eyeliner brush
4) target concealer brush
5) Sephora #55 for foundation
6) MAC 187 for blush
7) MAC 138 for contouring and highlighting

I also use a random brush my mom got in a Lancome gift with purchase set for putting a light color in the inner corners of my eyes (I do that everyday even though I don't wear a lid color every day) and an essence of beauty powder brush from CVS for bronzer.

sephora x hello kitty

Sephora recently launched a Hello Kitty line and of course I had to pick up something.

I got the brush set. There weren't any samples so I couldn't see or feel the brushes before I bought them. I have to say I'm disappointed with the quality of the brushes. The picture makes the brushes look big, but in actuality they're just travel size. I haven't use the brushes yet, but just by feeling them they feel up to par with the brushes you can purchase at target or anywhere. Regardless, I'm still happy I bought the set because the container that the brushes come in is just too cute! It would look great on any vanity and the quality of the case is good. If the set was over $55 I probably would have passed on it, but $49 wasn't bad. The mirrored look is a look I personally like and in my opinion it does with more things than the usual white colored Hello Kitty so snag one at your local Sephora or on their website.

aritzia

Everytime I've gone to Short Hills Mall I always pass by the store Aritzia, but never went in. The other day I went in and Aritzia is now my favorite store. It's everything that I would wear from casual lazy wear, to girly, chic, rocker, preppy, every look that I like to wear. The best thing about the store is that they carry size 23 ! Usually I wear size 24, but for some styles of pants I need a 23 and not many stores carry that size. I tried on so many things and wanted to get everything as usual, but instead I just settled for two pairs of pants.

1) J Brand Agnes in Onyx Twill (original price $218-$231; sale price $99)

Originally I was leaning towards another pair of Houlihans, but these fit better. I love the Houlihans, but the size 24 is a little loose since they are cargos. These however fit like a glove! Tip: J Brand ankle length pants are the perfect length pants for shorties

2) Wilfred Drapey Harem Pant in Raven (original price $110; sale price $70)

I was debating the tan color or raven. I ended up buying Raven since I thought it would be more versatile. It's not black it's more like a taupe dark gray. I've been searching for a pair of harem pants that aren't too long on me and that don't make my butt look saggy and these are perfect. The fit is great and the material is so soft. Many harem pants tend to look like sweat pants, but not these.

patent & bows

I saw these Prada flats and just had to have them; they're SO CUTE! The best thing about them is that they make your feet look small and they're super comfy. I have wide feet and have a hard time finding flats these are perfect. Run don't walk to your nearest Nordstrom, Saks, Neiman Marcus, or Prada store and snatch them up! I actually went down half a size so I would recommend getting TTS or half a size down.

fix for dry winter skin

Laura Mercier's almond coconut scented body creme smells amazing and is super moisturizing. I love that it is creamy, but not so thick and the best part is the scent lasts all day long! Honestly I am not a fan of anything coconut, but this scent is AMAZING. I highly recommend this set or just try any one of the products separately it won't disappoint.
